Singapore: Unhappy Prudential agency leaders send formal petition to Asia headquarters and London office to protest

| 17 Jul 2018

Unhappy agency leaders from Prudential Singapore has sent a formal petition to the insurer's headquarters in Asia and to the British insurer's London office.

This is according to The Straits Times, which said 350 of close to 600 agency leaders sent the petition about a month ago to protest against making the sale of popular products and savings plans online.

Among other issues, it added that another sore point is Prudential’s discussions to partner broker Direct Asia which is viewed by agents as extra competition. Some also felt that it did not respond swiftly enough to when some policyholders experienced bank deductions in excess of their insurance premiums or failed deductions due to a technical error.

The agency leaders have asked for the removal of Prudential Singapore’s CEO Wilf Blackburn and Chief Agency Officer Roy Lim.
