The Chartered Insurance Institute confers Honorary Fellowship on Dr Thomas Cheung, the first outside of the UK

The Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) has awarded the Honorary Fellowship to Dr Thomas Cheung during its President's Dinner held earlier in London on 12 March 2020. Dr Cheung is the first international insurance professional outside of the UK receiving the award.

Dr Cheung is a prominent veteran in the insurance industry of Hong Kong. He started his career back in the late nineteen-forties, and he founded his own insurance company in 1960. Currently, Dr Cheung is the Chairman of The Pacific Insurance Company, Limited and The Pacific Life Assurance Company, Limited.

Dr Cheung has extensive knowledge and has over seventy years of contribution to the insurance industry, he is no doubt one of the longest service elite in the sector.

“We all know that the word ‘Chartered’ means the best quality, and all members of CII are reputable professionals. I feel honoured to be one of them. I am so proud to be a Fellow of the CII,” said Dr Cheung.

The CII Honorary Fellowship is an internationally recognised badge of professionalism among the industry. It is awarded to persons with suitable academic or professional qualification, exceptional experience in the insurance, and pre-eminence in the industry. Up to March of 2020, there are a total of twenty-one professionals that have received this prestigious Honorary Fellowship award.

The Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) is a professional body dedicated to building public trust in the insurance and financial planning profession.
