Prudential Cambodia partners with ACLEDA-Jardines Educational Foundation

| 21 Feb 2023

Prudential Cambodia has announced its new partnership with the ACLEDA-Jardines Educational Foundation (AJF) to support education in remote, impoverished villages in the kingdom.

The signing ceremony took place in the presence of key executives from both organisations at ACLEDA Bank head office.

Prudential Cambodia – the kingdom’s largest insurer with more than $200 million in assets under management – is committed to making a positive impact in the communities it serves.

The sponsorship agreement with the ACLEDA-Jardines Educational Foundation is a key part of this effort, reinforcing Prudential’s commitment to education and improving the lives of people in Cambodia.

The ACLEDA-Jardines Educational Foundation was established in May 2017 and has been operating social and humanitarian activities with a focus on constructing primary school buildings in five provinces in Cambodia ever since.

The foundation plans to build three more primary schools in 2023 – the ninth, tenth and eleventh schools in Preah Vihear and Oddar Meanchey provinces, respectively.

“At ACLEDA Bank, we recognise that education plays a critical role in driving economic growth and progress in Cambodia. Our partnership with Prudential Cambodia to support the ACLEDA-Jardines Educational Foundation is a testament to our commitment to investing in the future of Cambodia through education,” said ACLEDA Bank Plc President and Group Managing Director Dr In Channy.

Prudential Cambodia CEO Sanjay Chakrabarty said: “Prudential Cambodia is honoured to support the efforts of the ACLEDA-Jardines Educational Foundation in improving access to education in remote and impoverished villages. Education is the cornerstone of a better future, and we are committed to making a positive impact in the communities we serve.”

The partnership between Prudential Cambodia and ACLEDA Bank, a decade-long bancassurance, has seen more than 200,000 customers and approved over $14 million in claims as of December 2022.

This highlights the effectiveness of the partnership in protecting Cambodian families and helping them progress. This year marks a significant milestone for the partnership as it reaches a decade of protecting and securing the financial futures of Cambodians.

“We are thrilled to partner with Prudential Cambodia on this important initiative. The support of Prudential Cambodia will help us in our mission to provide at least a basic education to improve the quality of life of children in remote and impoverished villages in Cambodia,” said Dr Visoth Prom, Chairman of the ACLEDA-Jardines Educational Foundation.
