Celebrating AIA's 100-year journey at the AIA GLOW Festival

| 29 May 2019

This year marks AIA's 100th year in Asia. To celebrate the significant milestone, AIA has launched various initiatives to commemorate their Centennial year. The inaugural AIA GLOW Festival is one such marque event with Asia Advisers Network joining in the celebrations.

Representing Asia Advisers Network at the AIA GLOW Festival was Sharon Zhong, Content Creator. Other than being part of the festival from dawn to dusk, she attended AIA Healthy Dim Sum Masterclass conducted by celebrity Chef Jeremy Pang, Founder of School of Wok, author of two cookbooks – Chinese Unchopped and Hong Kong Diner, and AIA global food Ambassador for healthy cooking and eating.

While the participants of the Masterclass were rolling dough for their Har Gaos and Siew Mais to be steamed, Sharon had a quick chat with Jeremy to find out how he overcomes the lemons in his life.

“Most successful businesses, they don’t become successful without failure. I’m teaching Dim Sum here at the AIA GLOW Festival, and it’s all about practice makes perfect. You cannot make Dim Sum without practice. And with practice, it means you’re going to fail a hundred times before you succeed.” - Jeremy Pang

The AIA GLOW Festival had big yogi names like Marysia Do and Laura Kasperzak who were conducting mass yoga classes under the Cupola. Both yogis are huge for their passion and knowledge of advanced yoga in the community. In addition to the mass yoga, there were other multi-level yoga classes and talks catered for practitioners of all ages and abilities which provided a friendly and inviting environment for everyone to enjoy.

Even with a full day packed with yoga, a 5km run, music and food, the music acts in the evening kept the crowd going. Many were grooving to the songs of homegrown favourite, The Sam Willows as well as the international acts, Nina Nesbitt, Rudimental and Lost Frequencies.

If you missed this festival, don’t fret, as AIA has planned a few more activities in the next half of the year. Check out AIA100.com.sg for more of their Centennial year initiatives.
