The Singapore Insurance Institute celebrated its milestone of serving the industry for 55 years by raising funds for disadvantaged children at its SII 55th Anniversary Charity Ball.

Some $26,700 was raised at the dinner’s live auction. The funds raised go to Chen Su Lan Methodist Children's Home which provides shelter, care and protection to boys and girls of all races and religions between the ages of 5 and 21 years old who come from low income, broken, dysfunctional or abusive families in Singapore.

SII President Jeanette Lim

Ms Jeanette Lim, SII President, said, “2019 is a significant year for the Singapore Insurance Institute as we celebrate this important occasion – the 55 years of Singapore Insurance Institute, which is a major milestone. It is also an opportunity for the recollection of the years gone by and positive reflections for the years ahead.

“We would like to express our heartfelt thanks to all the members and supporters over this long 55 years period. Particularly, I would like to honour the past pioneers of this Institute, the people who have contributed selflessly to lay the foundations and built up the Institute to what we are today. For nothing would have been possible without your devotion to the task at hand.”

SII past presidents from as far back as the 1970s.

She added, “Today, the SII remains focused to be the platform for all those working in and with the insurance industry to network, share experiences, develop new skills and strengthen the professionalism of the industry. And this is the unique position of SII, to be able to connect professionals from every aspect of the industry – be it life or general insurance, agents, brokers, adjusters, service providers, legal and accounting professionals.

“SII is an institute for the people in this industry, and we can only move forward together with your support and dedication. To this end, may I invite you to come forward to share your expertise and ideas, and together, we can give back and shape a better future for our industry.”

It was wonderful to see the industry coming together, and Asia Advisers Network is proud to be the official media partner on this joyous and meaningful occasion.
