Mr Sara Lamsam, President and CEO, Muang Thai Life Assurance PCL, Thailand, was named Executive Champion of the Year at the 4th Asia Trusted Life Agents & Advisers Awards.
Throughout his more than 26 years of experience in the insurance industry, he has been building a solid foundation for the agency channel even as the company pursues digital innovation and transformation.
Under Sara’s leadership as CEO, 2018 marked another year of strong progress of innovations in product development, sales tools, and online digital platforms as the company successfully executed a new strategic plan to support agents.
He is committed to improving customer experience in the life insurance industry in Thailand. One of his solutions is ‘Digital Innovation and Transformation’, aimed at addressing claims speed offering new experiences that will change how the customers look at insurance.
‘Digital Innovation and Transformation’ is not simply about insurers leveraging technologies. It is about coping with the challenges of this brave new digital world – where the customer has the freedom of choice to select ever-higher standards of services and products.
At the core of it all is the customer-centric policy ‘Everyday Life Partner’. Being aware of the characteristics and attitudes of the different generations, he has transformed the company’s working environment and culture to be more suitable in the current era.
He has laid the foundation for a strong customer-centric policy for the agency channel. Other than offering excellent products and services to customers, it has instilled in the mindset of agents the need to put the customers at the core of its operations and the entire value chain in the agency force.
Always looking to support and elevate the performance of agents, he closely monitors the results of the agency force through an Agent Subcommittee. He also ensures that the agents are motivated and engaged through special events such as agent seminars and ‘Meet The Boss’ sessions held every quarter.
He takes the time to visit local agents, even in uptown branches. He believes that meeting agents face-to-face is one of the best ways to communicate to ensure that the agency force is fully aware of its integral role in the direction of the organisation.
