Hong Kong, China: Manulife Asia & Ant Health eye connected care

| 08 Sep 2026

Manulife Financial Asia and Ant Health have partnered to explore connected healthcare solutions designed to simplify how customers find, access and pay for medical services across borders.

The partnership will initially focus on Hong Kong and mainland China, with the companies aiming to address gaps in the cross-border healthcare experience.

Under the MOU, they will explore cooperation in health management services, digital health capabilities, insurance technology and cross-border healthcare support.  Potential initiatives include case management and concierge services for Manulife customers, expanded medical networks and patient services, as well as technology supporting health-related value-added services and cross-border insurance claims and payments.

The companies also plan to explore the use of health insights, industry research and common standards to strengthen the broader healthcare ecosystem.

Mr Steve Finch, President and CEO of Manulife Asia, said the collaboration reflects a shared goal of making healthcare more connected and customer-focused. Better access to healthcare is key to improving long-term health outcomes and helping customers maintain greater independence, he said.

Mr Zhang Junjie, Vice President of Ant Group and head of its health business, said integrating health insurance with healthcare services has become an important trend in improving the medical experience and overall well-being of users.

The partnership is expected to support more convenient cross-border healthcare services and contribute to the development of a “Healthy Greater Bay Area”.

The partnership has a regional scope, with Hong Kong and mainland China serving as the initial markets. Manulife Asia and Ant Health said they intend to explore extending the collaboration to other Asian markets over time.
