Singapore: Singlife launches first insurer-led obesity care programme

| 20 Oct 2026

Singlife has launched Singapore's first insurer-led obesity care programme in partnership with Novo Nordisk Singapore and HMI Medical.

The Singlife Chronic Care Programme is open to all its customers, offering medical consultations and prescription treatment where appropriate following assessment.

The programme costs $289 a month, including GST, for customers assessed as suitable for the treatment and dosage covered by this rate.

Treatment is generally intended for adults with an initial body mass index of at least 30, or between 27 and below 30 with at least one weight-related condition. It is provided alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity.

Customers can book consultations through telemedicine or at participating HMI OneCare clinics. Prescription treatment is determined by the attending doctor.

Singlife said improvements in weight and overall health will be considered when customers apply for new policies or request reviews of existing ones, as part of its underwriting assessment.

Obesity prevalence amongst Singapore residents rose to 12.7% in 2023–2024 from 10.5% in 2019–2020, according to the Ministry of Health.
