To ensure customers can travel with confidence during the COVID-19 pandemic, HK Express has introduced a new pre-departure essential: Complimentary COVID-19 Travel Insurance, provided in partnership with Chubb Insurance Hong Kong Limited.
The Complimentary COVID-19 Travel Insurance protects travellers departing from Hong Kong to any destination in the airline’s route network between now and 30 June 2021 (inclusive). To be eligible, travellers must also purchase their air tickets online via the official HK Express website or mobile app within the same period. During checkout, customers will automatically be enrolled in the complimentary policy, with an option to “opt-out” should they wish.
With the health and wellbeing of HK Express passengers in mind, the complimentary insurance plan covers up to USD100,000 in overseas medical hospitalisation expenses and a daily “COVID-19 Hospital Cash” stipend of USD100 for up to 14 days. HK Express passengers will also have access to a 24-hour Chubb assistance hotline and referral service, ensuring help is always available no matter what time it is.
Since the pandemic began, HK Express has made an even deeper commitment to passenger safety. As Hong Kong’s only low-cost carrier, the airline has implemented a series of measures and protocols, from deep cleaning to socially distanced seating arrangements, heightened sanitation and face-covering requirements. The complimentary travel insurance plan is the latest effort by HK Express to look after all its passengers both on the ground and in the air.
