Great Eastern Takaful's newly launched i-Great Mega Plus investment-linked takaful plan, in collaboration with Habib, is designed to provide customers with immediate protection while also allowing them to build an investment component according to their financial goals.
The plan offers coverage starting from MYR300,000, with customers able to select investment funds based on their preferences.
The plan provides maturity benefits, loyalty benefits credited every five certificate years during the contribution payment term, and an accidental death benefit of up to 300% of the Basic Sum Covered.
Head of Marketing, Great Eastern Takaful, Rashida Mior Ahmad Darwish said with the waqf service, the plan allows participants to dedicate a pre-agreed portion of their death benefit to appointed waqf institutions, nominate beneficiaries under conditional hibah, or both.
“The plan provides a practical solution for wealth transfer and financial protection, empowering participants to safeguard their loved ones and ensure that the designated takaful benefits are transferred to their intended beneficiaries upon their death.
“It also enables participants to contribute to charitable causes, allowing their values and contributions to continue benefiting future generations,” she said at Habib Landmark recently.
Ms Rashida said there is no minimum age requirement and encouraged customers to start as early as possible.
She also shared that customers could gradually increase their coverage and contributions as their financial capacity improves.
She added that the plan primarily targets higher-income individuals and business owners, although its flexibility allows younger customers to start at a more affordable level.
Ms Rashida also highlighted the plan’s waqf facility, which allows customers to allocate up to 30% of their takaful benefit for waqf through organisations designated by Great Eastern Takaful. This is intended to provide customers with another avenue for their legacy and social planning, reported The Malaysian Reserve.
