Tokio Marine Life Insurance Singapore appoints CEO

Christopher Teo Sze Teck has been appointed as Chief Executive Officer of Tokio Marine Life Insurance Singapore Ltd (“TMLS”) effective 28 January 2019.

Christopher has close to 27 years of experience in the insurance and banking industry, and has held leadership positions in Singapore and Asia including appointments as Chief Executive and General Director of Vietinbank-Aviva Life Insurance Company Ltd, Vietnam, Alternate Principal Officer and Chief Operations Officer of Manulife Singapore Pte Ltd and President and Chief Executive of Manulife Insurance (Thailand) Public Company Limited. These are insurance companies in the life business.

His recent roles include being the Senior Vice President of Business Development with NTUC Income Insurance Co-Operative Limited and before then, the Chief Executive Officer as well as a member of the Board of Directors of Professional Investment Advisory Services Pte Ltd.

Professor Tan Cheng Han, Chairman of the Board of Directors, TMLS, said, “With his rich and diverse experience, we are confident that Mr Teo will provide the strategic leadership to steer TMLS to continued growth.”

 

India: Max Life Insurance appoints Chief Marketing Officer

Max Life Insurance Ltd has appointed Aalok Bhan as the Director & Chief Marketing Officer. In his new role, Aalok will oversee Max Life’s product, branding and corporate communication operations with the objective of strengthening customer-oriented product design strategies, brand positioning and marketing endeavours.

Based at Max Life Insurance’s corporate office in Gurugram, he will be directly reporting to Prashant Tripathy, Managing Director & CEO, Max Life Insurance.

Having joined Max Life in 2012 as part of the Executive Management Committee, Aalok transitioned to establish Max One in 2013. After a brief stint as the Head of Products, Customer Marketing and Corporate Communications, in October 2016 he assumed the responsibility of Chief Distribution Officer at Max Life.

Under his leadership, the Max Life's distribution footprint witnessed exponential expansion across the nation. He was responsible for managing agency and all bank partnerships that fortified the company’s multi-channel distribution architecture, further growing its market share.
